"To open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me."
Acts 26:18

In the last blog, I discussed the dominion of darkness. In this blog, I want to speak of the Kingdom of light. The early Christians understood this as the “two kingdoms,” meaning that presently there are only two kingdoms, or two realities. The kingdom of the world, and the kingdom of God-- there is no middle ground, and we can only be a part of one or the other.

"Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."
James 4:4

The gospel message Jesus spoke was “the gospel of the Kingdom,” in which he was telling people to “repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” In other words the King has come, change your allegiance and obey Me. Follow Me. His plea is to turn from darkness to light because this world is darkness, and under the power of the evil one. This world is passing away.

"Jesus said to them, 'I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.'"
Luke 4:43
"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."
1 John 2:15-17
"Jesus answered, 'My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.' Pilate therefore said to Him, 'Are You a king then?'
Jesus answered, 'You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.'"
John 18:36-37

The pursuit of light… God pursues us with so much love that He sent His son as a ransom to free us from our enslavement to satan, sin, and the world. He lovingly offers the opportunity to become a citizen of the kingdom of God. The pursuit of God’s love is for all who will submit, and lovingly obey Him with a faith that believes the very words Jesus spoke.

"Then Jesus cried out and said, 'He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.'"
John 12:44-50
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:14

I believe one way in which God pursues with love is with his body, the church. Yes, you and me! The Father allows us to be the expression of His kingdom in this world! God has called our family to reach into the darkness, holding His Light and pursue these children with His love. It is our desire as we prepare for the next adventure the Lord has for us in Uganda, to take the opportunity to rescue and work with these street children. By building a godly foundation, we will be training them in the way they should go

Now I have a request for you, the reader. Please pray with us for these children, and for God’s will to be done and His kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven. Will you intercede for these children asking God to continue to do a mighty work, to give our family wisdom and discernment? There are also various other ways you can assist the work of the ministry in Uganda. For that please contact Mark White, and ask in what ways you can help.

Our desire is that as these children grow older, they will be built on the solid rock. Which will enable them to count the cost and follow the King, and Savior from darkness to His glorious Light!

"He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins."
Colossians  1:13-14
